The El Carrilet Olot-Girona route passes through sites of great landscape, ecological and cultural interest. IT STARTS IN THE VOLCANIC AREA OF LA GARROTXA and, following the route of the old and narrow railway, it goes to the Ter Valley and the pastures of Salt and Girona.
The route that once linked La Garrotxa and El Gironès today allows you to know the natural resources of the volcanic area of La Garrotxa, the Castle of Hostoles and the urban centers of Anglès, Sant Feliu de Pallerols and Girona, among others.
Once in Girona, it connects with the next section of the El Carrilet road, towards Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
This first section of the El Carrilet road has a slight difference in altitude between Olot (440 m) and Girona (70 m) and the highest point is at Col d’En Bas, at 558 m above sea level. THE ROUTE, SUITABLE FOR WALKERS AND CYCLISTS, IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND HAS BEEN DEVELOPED WITH NEW BRIDGES, GUARDRAILS AND MARKINGS.
