La Jonquera is the starting point of this itinerary through Garrotxa County, via the mediaeval villages of Besalú and Santa Pau.

From Santa Pau, the trail goes on into the heart of the spectacular Garrotxa Volcanic Area Natural Park, and from there into Osona County and the villages of Rupit and Seva, stopping to admire Sau reservoir in Vilanova de Sau on the way.

On the last stretch of the route from Seva to Aiguafreda, hikers can enjoy the landscape of Montseny Natural Park.
