Albera Natural Site of National Interest
The south face of the Albera Massif presents two very different zones.
The more humid western end has Central European-type vegetation, with beech and oak woods, whereas the drier Mediterranean end has brushwood and cork oaks, and is host to the last populations of Hermann’s tortoise.
