Walk around the Montsacopa volcano and experience the Garrotxa volcanoes in a different way

During this walk:

We will achieve different stages:

• Stage 1: We will climb the volcano: What are your challenges? Exploration. We will overcome different obstacles.

• Stage 2: Physically, we will be in the middle of the Montsacopa volcano crater, the energy of possibilities.

• Stage 3: We will climb the watchtowers to gain perspective on this entire process.

• Stage 4: Action plan.

• Stage 5: End of the walk.

Montsacopa Volcano is one of the 4 volcanoes in the urban core of Olot. It is located between the Garrinada and Monteolivete volcanoes and is the most emblematic volcano in the city. This crater is unique in the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park as it was not deformed by any lava flow at the end of the eruption. It is the last volcano formed in Olot and erupted about 100,000 years ago. You can find the church of San Francisco at the top, rebuilt in 1875, and two watchtowers, built during the Carlist Wars (second half of the 19th century). Montsacopa Volcano is a place of great scenic beauty and an excellent viewpoint of Olot and the Garrotxa volcanic area.
