What is the workshop?
The Pirineus Workshop is a business event that is held each year in a different place in the Catalan Pyrenees and is organised by the Pirineus tourist brand.
During the day, purchasers and vendors come together to make initial professional contacts via pre-established 15-minute appointments.
Participants
Purchasers. Tour operators, travel agencies, event organisers and federations from Spain and the guest country which are interested in the Catalan Pyrenees. Each year features a different guest country; to date we have enjoyed the participation of France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and Scandinavian countries.
Vendors. Tourist companies based in the Pyrenees: hotels, country homes, adventure sports companies, hiking companies, bicycle tourism companies, companies specialised in wellness or culture, ski resorts and incoming tourist agencies, among others.
Dates
This event is usually held during the first few days of October, and normally near the end of the week. Even though the business meetings only last one day (usually Friday), complementary activities are held one or two days prior.
Famtrips and technical seminar
As previously mentioned, activities to respond to the needs of purchasers and vendors are also organised:
Technical seminar: the day before the workshop, a tourism-related talk aimed at vendors will be held to give them tools to improve their business.
Famtrips: during the two days preceding the workshop, familiarisation trips will be organised in the area where the workshop is being held so that purchasers can become acquainted with the land and products of the Pyrenees.
Workshop website
Communication between organisers and participants is conducted through two websites created specifically for the event.
The websites provide information on the event (place, schedule, registration and agenda calendars, contact information, etc.), and each participant can access his/her own private area where he/she can see the participants’ profiles and agendas. The participants schedule their appointments through the website in accordance with the established agenda calendar.
